SHOPPING: 1,000.00 Peso Challenge for August 2013

If you have been following my shopping posts, you would be aware of the shopping challenge I have imposed on myself once a month. It's a very inexpensive way to add items to my wardrobe. At P1,000.00 limit, it won't hurt my wallet that much.

This month, I found myself back at one of my favorite shopping destinations, The Landmark! I finished this shopping session in a matter of minutes. Landmark recently had a makeover so the improvements meant more space, and more space meant more clothes! Oh yes, I was so excited. But alas, with my budget, I didn't want to go around too much and find items I could not let go of... and that would mean I would go over the budget. Neverthless, I am soooo happy with the items I found.

First up is this unique top that I scored for only P219.75 or around $5.50!

Next is this REALLY nice and edgy dress that I could not let go of (I used this already at my past fashion post a week ago titled Pay it Forward:

It was an absolute steal at only 249.75 bucks so I HAD TO get it in another color! The white version is gorgeous!

Lastly, because I wanted to get something for the rainy season, I got this pair of spiked jelly flats! Isn't it the cutest?! They cost only 239.75!!!

Here's the summary of my purchases:

P219.75 - Black CrissCross Top
P249.75 - Black Dress
P249.75 - White Dress
P239.75 - Spiked Jelly Flats

Yipee! I love shopping! =)

FEATURE + GIVEAWAY: Shoot That Purple Dot!

I have worked with Purple Dot Photography numerous times. For some events and for my blog features as well. First time that I got the chance to work with Purple Dot was for an exhibit and contest at the Alabang Town Center. I was the model for the FOOD + FASHION entry by Purple Dot, which won first place and was on exhibit for a month at Alabang Town Center:

Purple Dot Photography is owned by Eunice Vallesteros... yes, a woman photographer. GO GIRL POWER! I must say, she is indeed one of my favorite people to work with. First reason because of her professionalism. Never late and deadlines always on time. Second reason, because she seems to "get me". For all my ideas and inputs on shots, she seems to know how to translate it into photos. Of course another reason is that she is so easy to work with! Shoots are super fun and stress free. Work doesn't seem like work at all. Most of all, I love the way she puts LOVE in her work. With the way she shoots and edits... may it be for prenup shots, pregnancy photos, fashion shots or weddings... her work always seems to come from the heart. Let me give you a brief preview on her work...

FASHION: Electric

Awesome edit by Eunice Vallesteros of PURPLE DOT!

Before anything else, I just want to say how amazed I am with the Filipino spirit. Despite the heavy monsoon rains and floods that we have experienced over the past days, it is nice to see how Filipinos rise above these situations. How we all help each other in trying times, and how we manage to smile despite hardships and calamities is something we all should be proud of. My heart goes out to those who are gravely affected and I pray that they will rise above this. I'd like to share this photo I saw on Facebook, and it shows our positive attitude and strength that is indeed admirable. We can get through this!

On a lighter note, being stuck at home at the height of the stormy weather last weekend gave me time to improve on my blog. Aside from moving to my own domain. I finally figured out how to add pages and gadgets. This is already a major achievement for someone like me who has absolutely no knowledge on html codes and techie stuff! So... hoorayyyy!!! =)

For this outfit post, I'd like to share with you this beautiful skirt from one of my sponsors, Caramel Ph! They have so many adorable dresses but this particular piece caught my eye. It's so unique and pretty!

I love wearing black. And although I have a lot of classic black pieces, I also collect unique pieces like this. Sometimes I like to challenge myself with styles I wouldn't have thought I could pull off. It's fun to experiment! Despite the see through part of the skirt, it somehow still exudes a classy and classic look. Of course I added a few pops of color with my Betsey Johnson Purse and a pair of shades that I embellished myself.

Sunnies from my accessory line, OLEIC.

So what do you think of the electric skirt? I personally love it! =) Thanks for reading and keep safe! =)

HAIR CHRONICLES: Ombre Romance

It's confirmed... I have fallen in love and I am caught in an OMBRE ROMANCE! Ever since Angelo Falconi III did my first ombre experience with pink, I just could not get enough! I enjoyed my Pink Ombre for more than 2 months and even though I still loved it, I wanted to try another color change. I love the ombre look a lot because it is so low maintenance! I love my long hair and i am certainly not close to chopping it off, but I am also the type who doesn't carry a hairbrush with me. Wash and wear - yeah that's me. That's why ombre works for me so much because even with an untidy hairdo, it still looks AWE-SOME!!!

Angelo Falconi III busy coloring my hair with his super friendly staff! My salon trips are always fun because I love the ambiance here. Everyone here is so nice and friendly! =)
At the salon --- Color still fresh. I told Angelo I wanted to look like a mermaid so he braided my hair and blowdried it a bit and... VOILA! The mermaid look!
Violet and Pink! I don't know how many shades were used but as always, the way that Angelo mixed all the colors together is really a work of art! The results were FANTASTIC!!! I certainly have fallen in love with Ombre! Now, brace yourself for some of my ARTE pics! =)

Channeling my inner Willow Smith....

I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH!
